I know my class does provide my students with useful feedback and desirable goals, however I don't provide my class with "interesting choices or "opportunities to see them selves improve'. I always give my students short term goals. At the beginning of the lesson, I let them know what their learning expectation is and what is the goal they need to meet at the end of the lesson. They receive feedback by assessing their own learning at the end of the lesson. I usually post a question at the end of the lesson and give students time to respond. When the time is up I go over the question and answer and students are able to figure out if they met their goal for that lesson. This is a very traditional way to respond and I know that. I realize now that this can be very boring for them and they have to change it by incorporating technology and giving them options as to how to reply and responds to assignments and questions in the classroom. I would like begin to give my students choices as to how they can choose to turn in an assignment. Video presentations and powerpoint presentations would be a great alternative to presentation in class next to a poster.
